Mulla Sadra And Hamzah Fansuri
Abstract
Hamzah Fansuri who lived in northern Sumatra in the sixteenthcentury is the foremost Malay Sufi poet of the Malay world. Hewas the first to pen lofty and abstract metaphysical principlesand ideas in the Malay language. This paper undertakes acomparative treatment of certain fundamental aspects ofFansuri’s metaphysical writings with that of Mulla Sadra. Ithighlights some of the significant similarities and differences in their metaphysical discussions on the divine Essence, and creation, and also touch upon their influence in their respective worlds
