Abstract

The claim that there is a necessary connection between moral judgment andmotivation is a premise in many arguments for metaethical positions. The paperargues that the differentiation of a de dicto and a de re interpretation of thisnecessary connection reveals the flaws in the familiar internalist argument fornoncognitivism and in the argument from queerness for irrealist cognitivism
