Abstract

Regarding the conditions in which oral communication emerged into "rst humans there are confronting theories. We adopt the position of the ones which take into account that the structure of language would emerge from the associative complexity of the relationship between symbols and that are also aware of the emanated sense from our quotidian use of language. An evolutionary and gradualist point of view which considers the possibility of the gestural origins of language is supported. Di#erent evidences are analyzed in order to bear out this hypothesis.
