Abstract

The Christian disposition towards the Second Coming of Christ is anticipatory, for Christians are called to act appropriately in view of the expected end-time. This Christian eschatological anticipation cannot be framed successfully within traditional theological models of grace and nature. The idea of emergence, however, provides a successful way of framing Christian eschatological anticipation theologically. The role of imagination as a vehicle for understanding Christian eschatological anticipation will also be examined.
