Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present Thomas Mann’s interpretation of Nietzsche’s works and to reconstruct the image that Mann gives of the philosopher in the essays he dedicated to him. It will also give fundamental indications on Nietzsche’s presence in ‘Der Zauberberg’, concerning the concept of time, the affirmative Dionysism, the anthropological thesis of the human being as a ‘sick animal,’ as well as the complex exercises of a tragical wisdom, captivated by irony, music and paradoxes
