The Research into the Traditional, Modern and Postmodern Calligraphic Art

Abstract

Chinese calligraphy art history in the world, there are important points of the position, it also has the "artistic" and "practical" value. Book Art of the United States is the key to "brush" of writing the use of brush writing can builds character, enhance the mind, conservation virtue ..., it is not only with painting, dance, music, etc. to keep pace with pure art, but also the Chinese self-cultivation effort of one. Artist Mr. Xiong Bingming once said: "Calligraphy is the core of the core of Chinese culture", even if the foreigners do not understand Chinese characters, calligraphy can also enjoy the beauty of shape, like do not understand opera libretto, but also to have moved to listen to sound general law. Starting in the 1980s, mainland Chinese calligrapher who book by the wind, the Japanese avant-garde calligraphy, book arts shape South Korea, the Western abstract expressionism art, and writing style post-modern art ... ... and so the impact and influence, the rise of the "modern calligraphy" Such is quite different from traditional creative performance. This paper is an attempt to analyze from the traditional, modern to post-modern, Chinese Calligraphy Chinese world overview of the development. Chinese character calligraphy is an art, which has both form and abstraction. It is not only the same as the arts of Chinese painting, dance and music, but is also regarded in Chinese culture as a method that can cultivate one's moral character. Writing calligraphy is considered to contribute to peace of mind and to promote intelligence and morality. Calligraphy is the one of the most important arts in the Chinese world. It is regarded by many as the highest art form and the very symbolization of Chinese culture. Art scholar Xion Bing-ming said: 'Chinese calligraphy is the core of the core of Chinese culture'. Even the foreigner can appreciate the beauty of Chinese calligraphy, in the same way that people who do not understand Western opera, can appreciate its beauty. Since 1980 , calligraphers have been influenced by Japanese vanguard calligraphy, Korean contemporary calligraphy, Western abstract art and post-modernism. Some forward-thinking calligraphers have developed a 'contemporary calligraphic art' which is different from the traditional calligraphic art. These calligraphers have tried to create a new art in many different ways. The main meanings and purposes in this research are to introduce and analyse the importance and value of Chinese calligraphy of contemporary calligraphers
