On the Inner Tension of Hume's Doctrine of Imagination

Abstract

The article by Hume's "Imagine," the meaning of the concept, characteristics and functions of the three aspects of the analysis, discusses his theory of imagination and a deep tension within the intent - for a long time tried to belittle imagination of Western rationalism made ​​sharp criticism. This essay has discussed the inner tension of the doctrine of imagination was advanced by Hume through analyzing the meaning, the feature and the function of his concept of imagination, and his deepen purpose of giving an incisive criticism to the western rationalism that had been belittling imagination vigorously for a long time.
