Clinical and anamnestic characteristics of children with irritable bowel syndrome and therapy methods

Abstract

Irritable bowel syndrome remains one of the common intestinal diseases in which, despite the absence of painful changes in the internal organs, children experience bouts of severe abdominal pain, accompanied by flatulence, diarrhea or constipation. This condition is characterized by both a high frequency of occurrence and the development of complications with a long course of the disease, the risk of developing chronic gastroenterological pathology. The predominant irritable bowel syndrome is diarrhea with constipation, pain and flatulence, which is more common in older children, particularly in boys. This syndrome is polyetiological and the causes of its occurrence are not yet fully understood.
