Abstract
The first two chapters of this book describe an inquiry into whether the elements of human knowledge may be arranged in an order which is not determined by personal opinion and which is capable of being verified independently by different people. It concludes that this is possible and describes a theory which may serve the purpose. The third chapter is a commentary, intended to supply a background to the theory, to compare the authors present views with those of other persons, and to suggest applications of the work to practical problems.
