Abstract

One of the important issues of the knowledge of the soul pertains to the temporal origination or eternity of the soul. To address this issue, philosophers have followed different approaches. There are three important and famous views in this regard: one view is attributed to Plato; the other belongs to the Peripatetic philosophers; and the third has been proposed by Mulla Sadra. All the remaining views are either interpretations or justifications of those of others and philosophers do not consider them significant because their fallacy is quite obvious.
