On the Spiritual Care of Nursing by Maritain's Intuition of Being

Abstract

Ms. Nightingale said care is care of the art, and art of nursing care as a professional, not just knowledge of the operation, it is the absolute heart of the trend of the specific value-creating activities. On the other hand, the object of nursing care is "people", and can not be conceptualized, in the specific context of memory in the "whole person." Intellectual cognitive achievement of knowledge is inadequate to face the different situations of each change must be intuitive and its immediate presence in the light of reason, in order to make appropriate care operations. This is the nursing care of "spirituality", there is ample knowledge and ability necessary for the nursing profession! Maritain's intuitive, there is "directly recognize the reality of the object," directed at "existence" of the facts. And Maritain's there not just emotional and intuitive, but it is in the light of reason, by power of love to the object, the object of the goodness sake of successful existence and achievements of their own realm. So, Maritain's intuitive enough to enrich the spiritual there is the basis for nursing care. Miss Florence Nightingale claimed that nursing is an art of caring, and nursing as a profession of caring art is not only an operating of knowledge, but a concrete activity of creating values ​​that the mind tends to the Absolute. On the other hand, the object of nursing care is the Man, and the Holistic Man that can not conceptualized and lives in the concrete situation. Intellectual knowledge is not enough to face the diversity of different situations. It must intuit the presence immediately and under the illumination of intellect that will accomplish the act of caring adequately. It is exactly brimming with energy of spirituality in nursing care that must have qualification for the intellectual capacity of nursing profession. Maritain's intuition of Being is precisely to recognize directly the reality of object that points to the fact of existence. Maritain's intuition of Being is not only sensible, but to achieve the pretty of object and the existent realm of the satisfaction by oneself. Therefore, Maritain's intuition of Being is enough to strengthen the foundation of the spirituality of nursing care
