El sendero de la virtud hacia el motor inmóvil, o si la ética de Aristóteles se fundamenta en su metafísica
Abstract
Lots of opposite opinions have been caused by the matter of a foundational connexion between Aristotle' metaphysical and ethical theories. Some people claim that Aristotelian ethical project is deduced of the metaphysical one, which means that the mean sentences of Aristotle's ethical theory are -and only are- found inside of his metaphysics. Others rather look for Ethics' foundation inside of Ethics itself than postulate a foundation in the outside, in order to bestow more importance to his 'ethical system'. Meanwhile, the issue is whether metaphysics are the fundamental sentence upon in which Aristotle's Ethics is based on or Ethics is the rock upon which Ethics stands. This paper is concerned with that issue, and I aim to show that there is no fundamental connexion between Metaphysics and Ethics but an internal relation that is necessary, considering that both theories are parts of the same system -the Aristotelian. Thus, not subordination but coherence inside the system is evidenced by the points of nexus there are between the two theories this essay is asking for.
