Abstract

This essay focuses on how conceptual issues of site and space have transformed the environmental parameters of both the visual art world and the performing arts world. At the same time, it considers how the conventions inherited from each of these worlds produce different concepts of “site” and structure quite different professional networks for visual and theatre artists.
