First - year student about the motives of admission to the university

Abstract

In the article considered university admission motives in depending on the type of faculty, training areas, forms of education and gender freshmen in DNU named after O.Gonchara on the basis of analysis of empirical recearches. Among the dominated reasons for admission to the university, as well as the choice of the future profession among young people there are next: mercantile nature motifs - the prestige of higher education and the particular university, the weight of his/her chosen profession in the society, a good chance to find a job after graduation, good earnings, etc. That theme of this nature is determined by the desire of young people to enroll in a particular school, a particular faculty receive future profession. It should be noted that more than a quarter of freshmen admitted: their choice of profession was an accident. «Teacher Tips» and «vocational guidance activities in the school», according to the study, don’t have a significant influence on the choice of a particular university entrants and direction of training. Growing influence on the choice of young people of high school and their future profession now has the information posted on the Internet.
