Il saggio si apre con un’introduzione sulle vicende editoriali che hanno portato il pensiero di Simone Weil in Italia e su come esso sia stato ricevuto, con tentativi di appropriazione da parte cattolica, padronale e operaia. Si commenta la diffusa tendenza a inscrivere la Simone Weil giovanile nella tradizione marxista e si propone un confronto con il pensiero di Antonio Gramsci sul tema della classe operaia e del metodo storico-materialistico. The essay opens with an introduction about the editorial events that brought Simone Weil’s thought to Italy and about the way it has been received, with attempts of appropriation by Catholics, industrialists and leftist intellectuals.
