Abstract

Discute-se a especificidade da racionalidade que surge com a metafísica da subjetividade cartesiana e com o projeto matemático de natureza da ciência moderna no século XVII. Racionalidade que atinge sua plenitude no domínio planetário da técnica da época atual. Por fim, a partir de um diagnóstico da época atual procura-se estabelecer as repercussões da chamada crise da razão no âmbito da emergência de novos paradigmas nas ciências naturais e humanas, apontando ao mesmo tempo para alguns desafios e tarefas que se apresentariam à universidade na chamada sociedade do conhecimento. Discussion of the specificity of the rationality that appears with the Cartesian metaphysics and the mathematical project of the nature of modern science in the 17th century. This rationality reaches its completeness in the worldwide mastery of technique that we see today. Finally, from a diagnosis of current times, the author attempts to determine the repercussions of the so-called crisis of reason in the scope of emerging paradigms in natural and human sciences, while pointing to some challenges and tasks that would be presented to the university in the so-called knowledge society
