Abstract

RAristóteles encontra o trágico nos limites entre a metafísica e a ética. Háalgo trágico na vida moral, ligado a esta região, que está presente também nodesenvolvimento de sua teoria da amizade. Levando em conta esta herança,a abordagem que apresentarei prioriza passagens que enfatizam: aspectosda interdependência entre amigos e cidadãos, e da vulnerabilidade que elaacarreta; e as distâncias e limites que, por um lado, separam o homem deaspirações divinas inalcançáveis mas, por outro, ajudam a delimitar e a manterum humanismo trágico, nem sempre fácil de preservar.Aristotle finds the tragic in the limits between ethics and metaphisics. Thereis something of the tragic in the moral life, connected with those limits, thatwe can also find in his theory of friendship. Taking this inheritance intoaccount, the approach presented here prioritize passages that stress thefollowing: some aspects of interdependence between friends and citizens,and the vulnerability thus engendered; and the distances and limits that,on the one hand, separate men from unreachable divine aspirations and, onthe other hand, help to delimitate and preserve a tragic humanism, which isnot always easy to maintain
