Abstract

From the concrete examples of Conics by Apollonius of Perga and the commentary on Books I–IV by Eutocius of Ascalon, the author examines the different means used in Ancient Greece by mathematicians and copyists so that the elements that contribute to constructing the meaning of the text are clearly identified.
