Abstract

The duality phenomenon/thing in itself doesn`t seem a sustainable paradigm in that essay by Nietzsche, in spite of his confessed filiation to Schopenhauer. The idea of “Kunsttrieb”, inherited from Schelling, indicates a scenario much closer to the Dionisiac notion of creation, which presumes some distance concerning the typical ascetic inclinations of Schopenhauer’s conception of esthetics. The proposed presentation has the purpose to discuss the possible incongruences between the Schelling, Schiller and Schopenhauer appropriations in that composition by Nietzsche
