Abstract

This paper examines how, in the wake of 9/11, BBC Television’s Doc- tor Who has symbolically explored that catastrophe and the efforts to construct a new world order in its aftermath. In doing so, it witnesses parallels with the apocalyptic and utopian visions of the programme’s own greatest literary influence, the seminal science fiction of H G Wells
