Abstract

This paper examines the double connection of Levinas' philosophical work to theology. Levinas censures every kind of logos and conceptualism on which «theologia naturalis» is based. Nevertheless, his reflection on transcendence recovers the theological subject and expresses it not through an apophantic language, but rather an ethical one . This way Levinas opens an original path of research which emphasizes the prophetical and messianic testimony
