Abstract

For many centuries and until now, the relationship between the Church and the state has always been controversial, but always relevant. There are vivid examples when in a particular country certain religions had the status of even state ones. At the same time, we know from the example of the former Soviet Union that for religious beliefs, the state subjected its citizens to severe repression.
