Abstract

For most of us, in particular when we live in urban areas, each day seems to be a race against time. Acceleration is a normative frame that disturbs not only our daily life but also the ecosystem of planet earth. Hartmut Rosa’s theoretical work enlightens the reflection regarding the link between acceleration as a social phenomenon and the era of the Anthropocene. Combined with other critical theories, Rosa’s analyses offer an opportunity to define a post growth world that exceeds the negative impact of social acceleration.
