El Plano Alfa del Objeto de Estudio

Abstract

The step between identifying the Research Object that we want to observe and the development of a reference frame to guide the investigation, in our opinion, has not received adequate attention as we help train researchers. Our bibliographical searches give us suggestions as to which aspects are more relevant for the concretion of the object that interests us. This means that identifying relevant literature - theoretical, methodological, epistemological and empirical - is fundamental in order to define our conceptual Research Object . In this paper we present a novel approach to thinking about our Research Object prior to identifying the corresponding literature so that we may consider an ample spectrum of bibliography and choose that which is most relevant to our Object on analytical grounds and not dogmatic ones.We believe we have managed to reduce the multiplicity of theoretical, methodological and epistemological choices that face a researcher to two basic components that, when crossed, generate the alpha plane of the research object.The first component reflects the nature of the Object in terms of its relationship to the individual subject and the second component reflects our investigative interest as we define our Research. The a-plane can be reduced to four quadrants that allow us to reflect widely on those theories, methodologies and epistemologies that are more adequate to face the Research Object that we have proposed, without falling into a priori favoritism.El paso entre la delimitación de un Objeto de Estudio que queremos observar y la elaboración de un marco referencial que guíe la investigación, en nuestra opinión, no ha recibido la atención necesaria en el momento de formar investigadores. El trabajo bibliográfico nos entrega sugerencias sobre cuáles son los aspectos importantes de nuestro objeto para construir la visión de ese Objeto que nos interesa. Esto hace que la identificación de bibliografía, tanto teórica, metodológica, epistemológica y empírica, sea fundamental al momento de elaborar nuestro Objeto conceptual . En este trabajo planteamos una forma novedosa de pensar nuestro Objeto de Estudio antes de identificar la bibliografía correspondiente para así poder examinar una amplia gama de bibliografía y seleccionar aquella que sea más relevante para nuestro objeto con criterios analíticos y no dogmáticos.Creemos haber logrado reducir la multiplicidad de opciones teóricas, metodológicas y epistemológicas con que se enfrenta un investigador social a dos componentes básicos que, al cruzarlos, generan el plano-a del Objeto de Estudio.El primer componente refleja la naturaleza del Objeto en cuanto a su relación con el sujeto y el segundo componente refleja el interés investigativo que podemos tener al definir nuestro Estudio. El plano-a se puede resumir como cuatro cuadrantes que permiten reflexionar ampliamente sobre aquellas teorías, metodologías y epistemologías que son más adecuadas para enfrentar el Objeto de Estudio que hemos delimitado, sin caer en favoritismos a priori
