Abstract

Between August 26th and 29th, Center Simão Mathias for Studies in the History of Science, PUC-SP, will conduct a Seminar in celebration of the centennial of Simão Mathias, its mentor. The subject of the Seminar is: Documents, Methods and Identity in History of Science, a focus of particular interest to Simão Mathias and at the foundations of the creation of the center that bears his name. The present article - where some points on this subject are raised - is opened for debate. Commentaries and suggestions are welcomed, through this section of Circumscribere. In this way, the journal initiates a new modality: the original article together with commentaries and alterations will give rise to a new text which will synthesize the topics to be discussed in August meeting.
