Abstract

A thriving student is completely physically, socially, and emotionally active and has a social connection and psychological well-being that can lead to college success. This study was conducted to determine the various enablers that predict the thriving of (BLIS) Bachelor of Library and Information Science students in the Caraga Region which can lead to their academic success through the presence and manifestation of academic, psychological, and social enablers. This study utilized descriptive correlational research design to gather quantifiable information on the relationships that exist between the variables. The respondents of this study were eighty-two (82) BLIS students from 4 schools that offer Library Science course in Caraga and the sampling method used was total population sampling due to the limited number of Bachelor of Library and Information Science students. Results revealed that in terms of characterization of the respondents' enablers, other enablers mostly got high ratings and only social connectedness got the lowest ratings. In their extent of student thriving, vitality scored low but the interpretation was still a manifestation of their enthusiasm in school activities. It was also found that there are three enablers that pointedly predict the respondents' thriving at school, it was academic determination, social connectedness, and positive perspective which was a clear manifestation that there are indeed enablers that predict the students’ thriving at school. It was also recommended that school administrators and faculty make programs and activities that enhance the students’ enablers that will lead to academic success.
