Abstract
The article considers various approaches to the problem of justice in a multicultural society, changes in the attitude to the existence of different identities and attempts by the state to achieve unity, the integrity of the national identity. The attention is given to the causes of inter-group tension and the ways of reconciling the interests of the majority and minority in the society. The main goal of the article is to determine ways of ensuring justice in a multicultural society. Methodology - the methodological basis for the study became general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, which allowed to systematize the material. When writing the article, system, structurally functional and comparative methods were used, which allowed to analyze different ideas about the ways of achieving justice in a multicultural society and the practice of their implementation. The study posed the following tasks: to clarify the conceptual-categorical apparatus necessary for disclosing the essence of justice in a multicultural society; to consider and analyze theories of multiculturalism from the point of view of justifying the rights of minorities; to determine the role and influence of theories of multiculturalism and justice on public practice; to analyze the change of ideas on the way of achieving justice in a complex society. The scientific novelty of the study is in determining the conditions for observing justice for minorities in a multicultural society.
