  1. Computability theory and differential geometry.Robert I. Soare - 2004 - Bulletin of Symbolic Logic 10 (4):457-486.
Let M be a smooth, compact manifold of dimension n ≥ 5 and sectional curvature | K | ≤ 1. Let Met (M) = Riem(M)/Diff(M) be the space of Riemannian metrics on M modulo isometries. Nabutovsky and Weinberger studied the connected components of sublevel sets (and local minima) for certain functions on Met (M) such as the diameter. They showed that for every Turing machine T e , e ∈ ω, there is a sequence (uniformly effective in e) of homology (...)

  • Covers of Abelian varieties as analytic Zariski structures.Misha Gavrilovich - 2012 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 163 (11):1524-1548.
We use tools of mathematical logic to analyse the notion of a path on a complex algebraic variety, and are led to formulate a “rigidity” property of fundamental groups specific to algebraic varieties, as well as to define a bona fide topology closely related to etale topology. These appear as criteria for ℵ1-categoricity, or rather stability and homogeneity, of the formal countable language we propose to describe homotopy classes of paths on a variety, or equivalently, its universal covering space.Technically, for (...)

  • Computably enumerable equivalence relations.Su Gao & Peter Gerdes - 2001 - Studia Logica 67 (1):27-59.
We study computably enumerable equivalence relations (ceers) on N and unravel a rich structural theory for a strong notion of reducibility among ceers.
