Recently the Arctic becomes an important strategic region, through which lie important sea routes, as well as the Arctic shelf was discovered signifiant deposits of energy resources. The distribution of spheres of inflence in the Arctic region between Canada, USA, Russia, Norway and Denmark is an actual problem of modern international relations. The peculiarity of the Arctic as a region - is that it consists mainly of segments of national states and political centers of which most are located far to (...) the south. At the beginning of the XXI century the strategic importance of the North grows and comes the most important in geopolitics and economics as Arctic states and leading countries outside the region. Canada and Russia have the best starting position in the upcoming «battle for the Arctic» They not only have the lingering Arctic coast line and operates under the Northern Sea Route and the Northwest passage, but also have the largest icebreaker flet and the unique experience of actions Navy in the Arctic Circle. Sectoral allocation as one of the Arctic division variants - in which the territory is divided along the lines of the meridians that converge at the intersection on the Pole, and the distribution of the median line at equal distances from the coast. International opposition to the division of the Arctic territory and its many resources is beginning to strengthen and supplemented with new threats to the Arctic states. But despite this, some regions of the Arctic states have an independent political line and position themselves as full actors in the international arena. The struggle for control of the Arctic is still in the initial stage and does not worsen, turned around primarily in the legal and diplomatic fild.
