Gendered Agents: Women and Institutional Knowledge.Paul A. Bové & Silvestra Mariniello (eds.) - 1998 - Durham, N.C.: Duke University Press.
_Gendered Agents_, edited by Silvestra Mariniello andPaul A. Bové, presents essays by influential feminist theorists who challenge traditional Western epistemology and suggest new directions for feminism. By examining both literary and historical discourses, such critics as Gayatri Spivak, Hortense Spillers, and Lauren Berlant assess questions of sexuality, ethics, race, psychoanalysis, subjectivity, and identity. Gathered from various issues of the journal _boundary 2_, the essays in _Gendered Agents_ seek to transform the model of Western academic knowledge by restructuring its (...)

Characteristics of Patients Returning to Work After Brain Tumor Surgery.Silvia Schiavolin, Arianna Mariniello, Morgan Broggi, Francesco Acerbi, Marco Schiariti, Angelo Franzini, Francesco Di Meco, Paolo Ferroli & Matilde Leonardi - 2021 - Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 14.
Objective: To investigate the differences between patients returning to work and those who did not after brain tumor surgery. Methods: Patients were evaluated before surgery and after 3 months. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment test, Trail-Making Test, 15-word Rey–Osterrieth Word List, F-A-S tests, and Karnosfky Performance Status were used to assess cognitive status, attention, executive functions, memory, word fluency, and functional status. Patient-reported outcome measures used to evaluate emotional distress and disability were the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and World Health Organization (...)

Front Waves of Chemical Reactions and Travelling Waves of Neural Activity.Yidi Zhang, Shan Guo, Mingzhu Sun, Lucio Mariniello, Arturo Tozzi & Xin Zhao - 2022 - Journal of Neurophilosophy 1 (2).
Travelling waves crossing the nervous networks at mesoscopic/macroscopic scales have been correlated with different brain functions, from long-term memory to visual stimuli. Here we investigate a feasible relationship between wave generation/propagation in recurrent nervous networks and a physical/chemical model, namely the Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction. Since BZ’s nonlinear, chaotic chemical process generates concentric/intersecting waves that closely resemble the diffusive nonlinear/chaotic oscillatory patterns crossing the nervous tissue, we aimed to investigate whether wave propagation of brain oscillations could be described in terms of BZ (...)

Appareil, image et particule.Alexandre Guay - 2007 - In Marion Froger, Sylvestra Mariniello & Jean-Louis Déotte (eds.), Appareil et Intermédialité. l’Harmattan.
This chapter (in French) compares the ways to access to events in science and in art. In particular, the Déotte's concept of "appareil" is discussed. To be published in Jean-Louis Déotte and Sylvestra Mariniello (ed.), Appareil et Intermédialité, L'Harmattan, 2007.
