Abstract

Reviewing Giuseppe Cacciatore, Filosofia pratica e filosofia civile nel pensiero di Benedetto Croce, the author develops some reflections concerning Cacciatore’s critical-problematical Historicism. Observing that the couple practical philosophy/civil philosophy, which is the leit-motif in Cacciatore’s reading of Croce, plays a crucial role in Cacciatore’s own thought, the reviewer focuses on such central themes in Croce’s reflection as autobiography, the concept of life, the problem of ethics regarded in his relationship with civic life
