  3. The overlooked contributors to climate and biodiversity crises: Military operations and wars.Quan-Hoang Vuong, Minh-Hoang Nguyen & Viet-Phuong La - 2024 - Environmental Management 73:1-5.
The military-industrial complex, military operations, and wars are major contributors to exacerbating both climate change and biodiversity crises. However, their environmental impacts are often shadowed due to national security reasons. The current paper aims to go through the devastating impacts of military operations and wars on climate change and biodiversity loss and challenges that hinder the inclusion of military-related activities into environmental crisis mitigation efforts. The information blind spot induced by concerns about national security reasons jeopardizes the efforts to (...)

Author, contributor or just a signer? A quantitative analysis of authorship trends in the field of bioethics.Pascal Borry, Paul Schotsmans & Kris Dierickx - 2006 - Bioethics 20 (4):213–220.
ABSTRACT Publications are primarily a means of communicating scientific information to colleagues, but they are much more than that. Publications in peer reviewed journals are proof of academic competence, are used as a crucial component in evaluation criteria for academic promotion and fundraising and increase the prestige of research centres and universities. The urgent need for publications has also led to abuses in authorship. In the past the single‐author article was the rule, but over the past decades, the average number (...)

“Technical” Contributors and Authorship Distribution in Health Science.Elise Smith - 2023 - Science and Engineering Ethics 29 (4):1-19.
In health sciences, technical contributions may be undervalued and excluded in the author byline. In this paper, I demonstrate how authorship is a historical construct which perpetuates systemic injustices including technical undervaluation. I make use of Pierre Bourdieu’s conceptual work to demonstrate how the power dynamics at play in academia make it very challenging to change the habitual state or “habitus”. To counter this, I argue that we must reconceive technical contributions to not be a priori less important based on (...)

Knowledge Contributors.Vincent F. Hendricks, Klaus Frovin Jørgensen & Stig Andur Pedersen (eds.) - 2011 - Dordrecht, Netherland: Springer.
The aim of this thematically unified anthology is to track the history of epistemic logic, to consider some important applications of these logics of knowledge and belief in a variety of fields, and finally to discuss future directions of research with particular emphasis on 'active agenthood' and multi-modal systems. It is accessible to researchers and graduate students in philosophy, computer science, game theory, economics and related disciplines utilizing the means and methods of epistemic logic.
