    The transactional gift-exchange: a morphogenetic analysis of unpaid internships.Andrew Morrison - 2023 - Journal of Critical Realism 22 (3):486-503.
This paper combines the use of gift theory and the metatheory of the Morphogenetic Approach as a framework for the proposal that the relationship between unpaid interns and ‘employers’ may be conceptualized as a form of transactional, but asymmetrical, gift-exchange. The chapter focusses on how the theme of authenticity is important in these texts, and how they have a complex relationship with mainstream biographical traditions about (...)
