Abstract

The intention of this paper is to examine the relationship between identity and otherness in philosophical work of Emmanuel Levinas. In this work we find the ethical supremacy of otherness, which is separated from being and from identity. But identity doesn’t disappear, undergoes a deep ethical change through the paradoxical theses of substitution and expiation
