o objetivo deste escrito e analisar 0 conceito heideggeriano de ontoteologia, destacando a sua significacao, enquanto estrutura da história da metafisica. Para 0 proposto, considerarei duas questões que me parecem essenciais nessa estrutura, seu início e o seu fim. No que diz respeito à primeira questáo, (A) veremos o quanto é problemática a generalizaçáo da tese, de que há uma estrutura ontoteológica na história da metafisica desde Aristóteles, pois náo é táo simples detectar o seu início, ou seja, quando começa, (...) de fato, ontoteologia? Teria sido com o pensamento clássico grego, mais especificamente com Aristóteles, tal como conjectura Heidegger, ou com a Escolástica como pensam alguns medievalistas'. No que se refere à segunda questáo, (B) compararemos a critica de Heidegger e de Nietzsche à metafisica, demonstrando a ideia de Deus como a base de sua essência, considerando-a, particularmente, como ontoteologia -tal como Heidegger a concebe -e demonstraremos que, apesar de tal concepcao ser de inspiracao hegeliana, a matriz critica da qual ela deriva é nietzschiana, pois pressupõe a sua superaçáo. The article explores the considerations of Nietzsche on the Renaissance painter Raphael Sanzio, who are rare in the set of the work of the philosopher, however permeates all the phases of his intellectual development process. The approach, more often than is positive, with remnants of censorship with respect to the artist’s timidity in promoting a transvaluation of Christianity, which sounds as a certain ambiguity. The most fruitful moment of the approach occurs in the intermediate period, in which Nietzsche values the (...) Este artigo tem como objetivo situar o escrito de Nietzsche Also Spracht Zaratustra (ASZ) no contexto de sua obra e conferir-lhe o estatuto de obra principal.

Este artigo tem como pretensão reconstituir o argumento da interpretação crítica de Habermas sobre a filosofia nietzschiana, focando, sobretudo, o posfácio, escrito em 1968, a uma coletânea de textos de Nietzsche sobre teoria do conhecimento. A minha intenção é apresentar a gênese da interpretação, dezessete anos mais tarde, em o Discurso Filosófico da Modernidade, (1985), onde Nietzsche é apontado, por Habermas, como sendo o ponto de inflexão (Drehscheibe) da modernidade, que gerou, dessa forma, “um discurso irracional, metafisicamente desfigurado”, base da (...) pós-modernidade. Porém, como o posfácio é contemporâneo da obra Conhecimento e Interesse, (1968), na qual há um capítulo dedicado a Nietzsche que, em muito o complementa, resolvi utilizar este material com o objetivo de me auxiliar nesta interpretação. Most speakers experience unclarity about the application of predicates like tall and red to liminal cases. We formulate alternative psychological hypotheses about the nature of this unclarity, and report experiments that provide a partial test of them. A psychologized version of the ‘vagueness-as-ignorance’ theory is then advanced and defended.

This book explores the epistemic side of racial and sexual oppression. It elucidates how social insensitivities and imposed silences prevent members of different groups from listening to each other.

Because the conjunction pandq implies p, the value of a bet on pandq cannot exceed the value of a bet on p at the same stakes. We tested recognition of this principle in a betting paradigm that (a) discouraged misreading p as pandnotq, and (b) encouraged genuinely conjunctive reading of pandq. Frequent violations were nonetheless observed. The findings appear to discredit the idea that most people spontaneously integrate the logic of conjunction into their assessments of chance.

We predicted that it would and that the directionality of its impact would depend on a fundamental cognitive process – categorisation. If the target and referent goods belong to the same domain, we expected that the effect on the target would be in the same direction as the emotional enhancement of the referent. This paper provides a detailed analysis of how, according to Kant, the moral badness of some third parties’ actions can be established with certainty (by anyone, not only by the agent’s own conscience or by God). This account helps clarify why Kant affirms that some forms of wrongdoing (of which there are a “multitude of woeful examples”) can be demonstrated to be immoral, while excluding the possibility of proving the moral goodness of any action. It is easy to construct pairs of sentences X, Y that lead many people to ascribe higher probability to the conjunction X‐and‐Y than to the conjuncts X, Y. Whether an error is thereby committed depends on reasoners' interpretation of the expressions “probability” and “and.” We report two experiments designed to clarify the normative status of typical responses to conjunction problems.

The Gamer's Dilemma challenges us to find a distinction between virtual murder and virtual pedophilia. Without such a distinction, we are forced to conclude that either both are morally acceptable or that both should be morally illicit. This paper argues that the best way to solve the dilemma is, in one sense, to dissolve it. The Gamer's Dilemma rests on a misunderstanding in the sense that it does not distinguish between the form of a simulation and its surface content. A (...) greater appreciation of the way structural features of a simulation affect subject experience will help us see why only simulations of murder and pedophilia generating virtually real experiences are likely to be seen as wrong. I argue that a simulation’s structural elements powerfully affect how subjects experience simulated content and hence is an important, and previously neglected, variable necessary to dissolve the Gamer's Dilemma. Properly understood, virtually real simulations of murder and pedophilia are both likely to be treated by players as morally wrong. Similarly, virtually unreal murder and pedophilia will be less likely to be judged as wrong. Subject judgments are thus consistent once a simulation’s structural variables are accounted for. The Gamer's Dilemma dissolves as a dilemma once we acknowledge these structural features of simulations and how they affect experience and moral judgment. (shrink)

O presente trabalho traz um estudo do perfil dos 417 prefeitos eleitos no estado da Bahia nas eleições de 2016 pelos critérios de cor/raça e gênero. A partir desta definição, busca compreender qual o compromisso que os partidos políticos vitoriosos têm com a agenda antirracista e de igualdade de gênero de modo a compreender se mulheres e homens negros têm à disposição conteúdo propositivo dos partidos que apoiem pautas defendidas pelo movimento Negro e Feminista. A análise dos dados revela que (...) a Bahia é governada majoritariamente por homens, e brancos lideram a corrida de forma desproporcional já que sequer correspondem a 20% da população do estado. Por outro lado, a participação de mulheres e homens negros, apesar de representarem maioria dos eleitos, não significa corresponder automaticamente a uma associação objetiva da pauta antirracista e de igualdade de gênero dada às vinculações partidárias que escolheram. Luego, presento una reflexión sobre la reconstrucción de la experiencia personal durante el relato (y el papel que juega la memoria en dicho proceso), que culmina con la incorporación del mito, como forma de configurar la narración desde un saber (...) colectivo de gran plasticidad. Em 1933, o Governo Provisório liderado por Getúlio Vargas criou o Conselho de Fiscalização das Expedições Artísticas e Científicas no Brasil, com o objetivo de coibir a saída do país de objetos de seu patrimônio natural e artístico e garantir uma parte do que fosse coletado no país para as instituições brasileiras. Num momento de aproximação do Brasil com os Estados Unidos, que competia com a Alemanha por influência no país mesmo antes da eclosão da Segunda Guerra, cientistas e outros (...) exploradores norte-americanos realizaram expedições para coleta de animais e outros objetos naturais, que foram exportados para enriquecer as coleções de museus e outras instituições científicas nos Estados Unidos. Nesse contexto, o Conselho não cumpriu propriamente seu trabalho de fiscalização. Em parte, isso ocorreu em benefício das relações diplomáticas com os norte-americanos; por outro lado, por interesses particulares e disputas institucionais que impediam o pleno exercício de suas funções. Ambos os fatores impediram um trânsito de conhecimento maior entre os dois países, como a incorporação de mais animais às coleções nacionais e um contato maior entre cientistas dos dois países. Além disso, caçadores e colecionadores usaram justificativas científicas para levar um sem-número de animais para o exterior. Os casos analisados neste trabalho demonstram como, mesmo um governo autoritário de inspiração nacionalista, não deu conta de impedir o afluxo de objetos do patrimônio natural para um país aliado. A tese busca mostrar, ainda, como as fronteiras entre caça e ciência eram borradas no período e como isso se refletiu na fiscalização do CFE. (shrink)

Este artículo de reflexión plantea la decisión implícita en el acto educativo y, sobre todo, evaluativo: ¿comprender o juzgar? Á partir de un hecho educativo cotidiano se plantea la alternativa filosófica e irresoluble entre el determinismo y la libertad, proponiendo un enfoque compatibilista que significa que pese a que la acción humana individual hace parte de cadenas causales, somos libres de quebrar o innovar en cualquiera de los eslabones de dichas cadenas, posibilitando así la responsabilidad moral y la ética, y (...) permitiendo un acto realmente formativo. Los aportes de Descartes y Kant, así como de Pestalozzi y Makarenko permitirán proponer la educación como anticipación en un contexto preciso. (shrink)

En el mundo actual estamos inmersos en una paradoja donde divertirse es un régimen de elementos dispersos, que se traduce en la cultura de lo efímero, a la que hay que renunciar para restaurar algo consistente; pero, gran paradoja, mientras uno se divierte (...) no deja de involucrarse, en un mundo al revés, en caminos laterales, luchando por crear nuevas formas de diversión, por el miedo o la incapacidad para enfrentarse a sí mismo. U članku se razmatra nastanak i razvoj pojma ‘nacija’ u novovjekovnoj Europi, koja su shvaćanja pripadnosti naciji pritom bila u igri, te kako je cijeli ovaj kompleks ideologija utjecao na teoriju i praksu kolonijalnog ekspanzionizma nacionalnih država. S time je usko povezan i mit o tome da je kolonijalna ekspanzija Europe bila prvenstveno širenje civilizacije. U kritičkom sučeljavanju s ovim ideologijama na koncu se pojavljuje kako kolonijalno pitanje u marksizmu, tako i globalno nasljeđe kolonijalizma danas.Erörtert wird die Entstehung und Entwicklung (...) des Begriffes „Nation“ im Europa der Neuzeit, welche Auffassungen über die Zugehörigkeit zu einer Nation dabei im Spiel waren, und wie sich dieser gesamte Ideologienkomplex auf die Theorie und Praxis des kolonialen Expansionismus der Nationalstaaten ausgewirkt hat. Damit ist auch der Mythus eng verbunden, dass die koloniale Expansion Europas hauptsächlich eine Ausbreitung der Zivilisation gewesen sei. In kritischer Auseinandersetzung mit diesen Ideologien kommt abschließend sowohl die koloniale Frage im Marxismus zur Sprache, als auch das Globalerbe des Kolonialismus heute. (shrink)

This paper argues that, while there is a difference between personal and sub-personal explanation, claims of autonomy should be treated with scepticism. It distinguishes between horizontal and vertical explanatory relations that might hold between facts at the personal and facts at the sub-personal level. Noting that many philosophers are prepared to accept vertical explanatory relations between the two levels, I argue for the stronger claim that, in the case of at least three central personal level phenomena, the demands of explanatory (...) adequacy require postulating horizontal explanatory relations. Corporate America is institutionalizing ethics through a variety of structures, systems, and processes. This study sought to identify managerial perceptions regarding the institutionalization of ethics in organizations. Eighty-six corporate level marketing and human resource managers of American multi-national corporations responded to a mail survey regarding the various implicit and explicit ways by which corporations institutionalize ethics. The results revealed that managers found ethics to be good for the bottom line of the organizations, they did not perceive the need for additional (...) formalization of ethics, and that they perceived implicit forms of institutionalizing ethics (e.g., leadership, corporate culture, top management support) to be more effective than the explicit forms of institutionalizing ethics (e.g., ethics ombudspeople, ethics committees, ethics newsletters).
