Dans le cadre de la psychopathologie des inadaptations qui concerne les familles déshéritées plus connues sous le vocable de familles « cas sociaux », l’auteur s’interroge sur le lien pouvant exister entre l’instabilité motrice et affective dont souffre la grande majorité des enfants qui « bénéficient » d’une mesure d’aide éducative ou de placement et l’errance qui traverse la vie de leurs mères : errance géographique, errance amoureuse et errance dans le langage. Ce qui caractérise ces familles est une très (...) grande précarité, tant matérielle que psychique, qui prédispose à la répétition de ruptures, sociales, professionnelles ou familiales. Cette répétition agie des ruptures – au fil des générations et dans une même génération – peut être appréhendée sous l’angle d’une impossible séparation au sens d’une impossible mise en lien. Nous touchons là ce qui dans l’errance renvoie à une psychopathologie de l’absence ; le sujet se trouvant précisément pris au piège de la logique utopique. (shrink)

En este trabajo identificamos algunos factores que inciden en el tiempo de trabajo de los trabajadores chilenos en 2003. Se concluye que la precariedad laboral incide de modo significativo en las horas trabajadas sin embargo la relación cambia a partir de cierto nivel cuando las personas no pueden trabajar la jornada por falta de oportunidades. Ello sugiere que el sobre-trabajo y el sub-empleo son manifestaciones del mismo fenómeno por lo cual nuevas medidas para flexibilizar los derechos patronales agravarían estos problemas. (...) Asimismo, se devela una relación negativa entre salario por hora y horas trabajadas para cerca del 80% de los trabajadores. Esto hace pensar que las necesidades básicas están insatisfechas; además contradice la porción significativa de la curva de oferta laboral de los libros de texto de microeconomía. Estas relaciones se confirman en un modelo exploratorio añadiendo variables de control de tipo regional, demográfico y productivo. (shrink)

L’analyse quantitative, à partir des données de la CCIJP, des inégalités de genre dans le journalisme, suppose d’orchestrer un jeu d’échelles temporelles complexe. Nous proposons de coupler la description des évolutions du marché du travail journalistique à une analyse longitudinale des carrières. La focale est ensuite placée sur les cheminements professionnels des membres d’une cohorte, celle des nouveaux entrants sur le marché du travail journalistique en 2000, et sur la manière dont ces derniers traversent les évolutions de la profession. La (...) féminisation du journalisme s’opère dans un contexte de précarisation croissante. Les femmes renforcent leur place sur le marché de l’emploi journalistique mais elles présentent des carrières moins longues, plus discontinues, bénéficient d’un accès limité aux positions professionnelles d’encadrement et sont plus exposées à l’emploi flexible que les hommes. On constate toutefois une relative fissuration du plafond de verre. Mais la réussite des femmes est plus étroitement associée à la détention d’un diplôme prestigieux que celle des hommes, et la valorisation des parcours discontinus s’exprime différemment selon le sexe. Cet article propose une réflexion sur l’approche biographique en sociologie, centrée sur le concept de « bifurcation » étudié ici dans le registre des interdépendances et des interactions entre parcours professionnels et histoires de santé. Après avoir brièvement rappelé les principales caractéristiques du matériau biographique et, simultanément, les principaux problèmes qu’il pose à l’analyse, le texte souligne certaines spécificités de l’articulation sociale et biographique entre santé et travail. Il propose ensuite une définition opératoire de la notion de « bifurcation » (...) et la met à l’épreuve de quelques exemples issus d’un corpus d’entretiens. Cette analyse permet de montrer en quoi l’approche sous l’angle des bifurcations se révèle fructueuse pour mieux comprendre certaines formes de changements à l’échelle des parcours de vie et leurs mises en intrigue par les acteurs concernés.This paper proposes a contribution to the reflexion about biographical approach in sociology. It is focused on the concept of « turning point » , applied to the interdependences and interactions between work and health in the biographical course. The paper describes the main characteristics of the biographical material and, at the same time, the difficulties of its analysis. Then it underlines the specificities of the social and biographical interweaving between work and health, and proposes to confront the concept of « bifurcation » with several cases drawn from a corpus of interviews. This analysis shows that the concept of « bifurcation » can be useful to describe some kinds of changes in the biographical courses, and to understand their meanings for the actors. (shrink)

Les professionnels de la « com », sous l’influence de processus de civilisations dont le principal effet consiste à produire des sociétés de plus en plus policées, élaborent à la demande de leurs donneurs d’ordre des dispositifs discursifs et des méthodes visant à réduire les risques propres à la communication. Privilégiant une conception instrumentale de la (...) communication, le destin des « communicants » se réduirait-il à transformer leur activité en principale arme contre les valeurs démocratiques et humanistes portées par la communication ? Pour dépasser la com et libérer la communication de toutes les langues de bois qui l’emprisonnent, il convient de transformer les conditions pratiques de l’exercice de ces professionnels en renforçant leur rôle de médiateur.« Doublespeak » in its different forms is by no means the sole preserve of authoritarian or totalitarian regime: open democratic societies are equally afflicted. Professionals in « communication », working under the influence of processes of civilisation whose main effect is to produce increasingly policed societies, receive commissions to develop patterns and methods of discourse whose aim is to minimise the risks inherent to communication itself. In treating communication primarily as an instrument, these « communicators » may well find that their activities are turning into a particularly lethal weapon against the democratic and humanist values that are inherent to communication. To move beyond this subverted form of communication and liberate it from the many forms of doublespeak that have imprisoned it, the practical conditions in which they exercise their profession need to be transformed by reinforcing their role as mediators. The study focuses on the driving instructors of the French Horse and Riding Institute who are confronted with a restructuring of the sector and a reengineering of the training. It addresses professional transitions and their effects in terms of identity dynamics, work and/or training relationships. Fifteen semi-structured interviews were conducted. The results reveal transactions between acquired skills and the change expected by the institution, as well as strong tensions between feelings of legitimacy and forms of recognition by others. This paper assumes that the realization of a teaching action implies the conceptualisation and the theorization of practice, a positioning that allows to put things into perspective with respect to the professional activity and to learners, as well as a complex linguistic and cognitive positioning towards academic knowledge and institutional injunctions. This hypothesis is confronted with the scriptural positioning that young pre-service teachers adopt for the writing of their professional report, and is viewed through the lens of the point of (...) view issue. After having considered this issue in its various dimensions, the paper focuses on the linguistic concept of point of view, then analyses its relations to the adjacent notion of empathy and, more specifically, of empathic mobility. Finally, it explains how these linguistic technics, correlated to the empathic mobility and to the related abilities, contribute to the professionalization of (young) teachers by allowing them to problematize their own point of view; this problematization is achieved through a reflexive distance from the point of view of (institutional or academic) authority figures or from their own research objects and by taking into consideration their current situation and their experience in order to better emphasize the complexity of their research object and to better prepare for their professional activity. Cet article propose une analyse de la bifurcation à partir d’un corpus d’une soixantaine de récits de vie recueillis auprès de personnes en réorientation professionnelle. La reconversion professionnelle volontaire appréhendée comme une situation choisie par l’individu montre des cassures dans les trajectoires biographiques marquées par des changements d’univers professionnels, des ruptures familiales, un éclatement de la sphère relationnelle, et une perte de repères du soi. La thèse soumise ici est que le sens de l’événement n’est interprétable qu’à l’intérieur (...) d’une biographie particulière, elle-même inscrite dans un plan de sens à géométrie variable défini par des conditions objectives de contexte où les événements surviennent et déclenchent la réinterprétation du sens, imprimant une direction au devenir de la trajectoire. Le sens semble révisable à l’infini, il est contingent dans la bifurcation du regard porté par les autruis significatifs tour à tour déclencheurs ou soutiens de la reconversion professionnelle volontaire.This article examines the biographical change of direction based on a corpus of about sixty life stories of people undergoing professional reorientation. The professional retraining is regarded as a situation chosen by the individual and shows fissures in the biographical course marked by changes in the professional environments, divorce, a break in the relational sphere and a loss of oneself. The thesis supported in the present article is that the events can be interpreted only in the light of one particular biography, inscribed in the interpretation framework of the variable geometry defined by contextual objective conditions. The events occur and start the reinterpretation of the meaning in an already defined direction. The sense seems always revisable and contingent upon the evaluation of significant others, who support or even trigger off the voluntary professional retraining. (shrink)

This contribution is an invitation to consider the professional situation in a way that goes beyond a social meaning or a subjective approach. Understood as an intermediate object, the professional situation is studied as a result of tension between invariance and perspective. The data centre on the activity of counselors whose role is to guide farmers confronted with agro-environmental standards. This text brings into question on one hand the attributions qualifying the situation as «professional» and that attest to a form (...) of invariance; and on the other, the counselors’ activity of understanding the «perspective» of the farmers with whom they are in relation. Finally, the article suggests three avenues for future work on the notion of professional situation. Cette contribution invite à considérer la situation professionnelle au-delà d’une acception sociale d’un côté et d’une approche subjective d’autre part. Entendue comme objet intermédiaire, la situation professionnelle est étudiée comme résultant d’une tension entre invariance et perspective. Les données portent sur l’activité de conseillers dont le rôle est d’accompagner les agriculteurs confrontés aux normes agro-environnementales. On s’attache à remettre en question d’une part les attributions qualifiant la situation de « professionnelle » qui témoignent d’une forme d’invariance; d’autre part, l’activité de saisie par les conseillers de la « perspective » des agriculteurs avec qui ils sont en relation. Based on the presentation of a research framework (the shared work of teachers), this text uses an empirical approach to examine the hypothesis of a co-elaboration of the professional situation. To do so, the empirical investigation, based on the Goffman framework, analyzes the process of reconstructing a teaching session (reference situation) over the course of a pedagogical counselling session (support situation) characterized by interaction between a beginning teacher and a trainer. The invalidation of the hypothesis leads to a suggested conceptualization (...) of the professional situation combining definitional approaches (emphasizing the duality between its singularity and its genericity) and methodological approaches. -/- A partir de la présentation d’un cadre de recherche (le travail partagé des enseignants), ce texte soumet à l’empirie l’hypothèse de la co-élaboration de la situation professionnelle. This article, based on a socio-cognitive approach, deals with the professional training of student teachers in French agricultural education during their practical work experience. The main objective is to demonstrate that the student teacher’s social interaction with his academic advisor allows him to use and develop his professional knowledge relating to practical matters. Based on a qualitative analysis this study presents the results of an investigation of seven students and six academic advisors. L’objectif de cet article est d’analyser les relations entre les mères ayant des enfants en situation de handicap ou présentant des difficultés développementales et les professionnelles au sein de crèches collectives dites inclusives. Dans le cadre d’une étude plus vaste, réalisée en France, portant sur le soutien des familles de jeunes enfants porteurs de handicap ou présentant des difficultés développementales, un entretien semi-directif a été réalisé auprès de neuf mères et de dix professionnelles pour analyser leurs relations. L’analyse qualitative de (...) données est réalisée selon l’approche de Braun et Clarke (2006). Les principaux résultats mettent en évidence, pour les mères, l’importance du partage d’informations, le soutien apporté par les professionnelles ainsi que leurs compétences. Les professionnelles, quant à elles, soulignent l’échange d’informations et leur rôle d’accompagnement dans l’acceptation du handicap de l’enfant ou dans le processus de parentalité. To help clarify the concept of «teaching practice», this article analyzes a repository of professional skills of the teacher. It then examines how two groups of teacher educators attempting to use this repository to evaluate two teaching sessions (one secondary and one primary). Analyses revealed the difficulty in assessing a session from elements determined a priori from a list of skills. The evaluation of a teaching session seems to require the inclusion of its organic whole. Afin de contribuer à préciser (...) la notion de « pratique enseignante », le présent article analyse un référentiel de compétences professionnelles de l’enseignant. Il examine ensuite la manière dont deux groupes de formateurs d’enseignants tentent d’utiliser ce référentiel pour évaluer deux séances d’enseignement (une dans le secondaire et une dans le primaire). Les analyses révèlent la difficulté à évaluer une séance à partir d’éléments déterminés a priori dans une liste de compétences. L’évaluation d’une séance d’enseignement semble requérir la prise en compte de sa totalité organique. (shrink)

The professional situation is considered a major interface of practicum training, here conceived as a School of conjunction, a school where one learns to make links, a foundation for the engineering of professionalization. The notion of situation is here developed based on the study of a data corpus elaborated during an experience with a practicum training model centred on writing and the construction of the professional situation by a subject-actor-author of the situation, in interaction with others, in the context of (...) nurse training. The analysis and interpretation of data brings to light a complex and unique unit, constructed in the space-time of a professional practice, a process during which several states succeed one another. The critical moment in action characterizes this unit; it is central to the process, mobilizing reflection in action, internal deliberation, and action-related decision. La situation professionnelle est identifiée comme interface majeure de la formation en alternance conçue ici comme une Ecole de la conjonction, une école où l’on apprend à relier, fondement d’une ingénierie de professionnalisation. La notion de situation est approfondie à partir de l’étude d’un corpus de données constitué au fil de l’expérimentation d’un modèle de formation en alternance centrée sur l’écriture et la construction de la situation professionnelle par un sujet-acteur-auteur de la situation, en interaction avec autrui, dans le contexte de la formation en soins infirmiers. L’analyse et l’interprétation des données permettent de mettre en évidence une unité singulière complexe, construite dans l’espace-temps d’une pratique professionnelle, un processus au cours duquel plusieurs états se succèdent. This article presents the outcomes of a semiotic and cognitive analysis. The activities’ tracks of dissertations’ writing and artefacts’ design made by undergraduate design students were observed. Although the requirements of the dissertations’ writing are ambiguous, the activity of writing “increases” the activity of design and consequently widens the design skill. Because they provide new knowledge reorganizing the scientific and pragmatic concepts of the design by a process of “creative conflict”, the kinds of produced operational texts contribute to the renewal (...) of the abstract inheritances of the design and to the transformation of the activity and the professional situations. This concept was applied once in the late 1960s by companies to increase their production efficiency. Today, we observe that many centers of research and learning as well as researchers continue to work to improve the learning process based on the concept of competence. Les « approches » ou « démarches compétences » sont à l’ordre du jour et se multiplient dans les entreprises, les organisations, les administrations publiques, les universités. Mais permettent-elles de faire confiance aux professionnels concernés? Constatant que la plupart de ces démarches sont fondées sur des additions et des classifications de compétences, j’ai créé, dès 1994, la définition de la compétence en termes de « savoir agir avec pertinence en situation en créant et mobilisant une combinatoire de ressources variées internes (...) et externes ». J’expose dans le présent article les changements de raisonnement qui m’ont conduit à faire évoluer les paradigmes avec lesquels sont traitées les approches par compétences. C’est par rapport à ce changement de paradigme que je précise comment j’aborde le concept de « compétence éthique » en le situant par rapport au paradigme que j’expose et en proposant quelques pistes pour la formation à l’éthique appliquée. The objective of this study is to identify and categorize the focus of selective attention and reasoning of students in Secondary teacher education in French-speaking Belgium during the observation of teaching situations on video or in real context. A cross-fertilization between categories from a theoretical framework and another research highlighted some characteristics that students consider relevant during their observation and the type of reasoning they mobilize.

This study focuses on 22 former students looking for a job or newly entered into the teaching profession. Based on their autobiographical writings, this longitudinal research identifies nine variables influencing their integration. Their weights differ as well as the polarity of their influences. For example, while the steps to get a stable job are often seen as an obstacle, relational skills are an asset for integration into the profession. Moreover, this research suggests, in order to understand these integration processes, that (...) variables beyond classroom work should also be included. (shrink)

In the following article, starting from a progressive understanding of his own subjectivity, a determining factor in developing his capacity to listen to adolescents, the author puts forward the hypothesis that a professional position he describes as "in-between" requires rigor and flexibility, enabling professionals to remain permeable to the unconscious mobilizations of the adolescent-subjects as well as to his own. The author will draw on the results of a longitudinal, partnership-based study that he conducted with ten adolescents, from 2015 to (...) 2020, involving a team of specialized prevention educators. More specifically, the author will retrospectively analyze some excerpts from his encounter with one of the teenagers to reveal possible ways in which a "professional of the social bond" might adopt a rigorous in-between position. Des données récentes, notamment d’Europe et d’Amérique du Nord, démontrent l’importance du « secteur des services linguistiques ». Si l’on dispose assez largement de statistiques fiables sur l’ampleur du marché de la traduction dans les pays développés, on n’en a pratiquement aucune pour les pays en voie de développement, même les plus (...) grands. Nous savons très peu de choses des conditions de travail des traducteurs, mais une récente étude européenne montre qu’en général les traducteurs littéraires sont mal payés et souvent soumis à de lourdes charges de travail, ce qui nuit à la qualité. D’autres études sont manifestement nécessaires. La Fédération internationale des traducteurs vise à promouvoir le professionnalisme des métiers de la traduction et l’amélioration des conditions de travail des traducteurs en rassemblant les diverses associations nationales. Néanmoins, les instances dirigeantes de cette fédération sont dominées par l’Europe et les États-Unis alors même que l’on assiste à l’émergence de nouvelles puissances sur la scène mondiale et que les besoins en traduction ne cessent d’augmenter : ce sont de tels déséquilibres que l’article entend également aborder.This article looks into the non-communicational aspects of the work of translating professionals. Translators work in a variety of jobs that require a range of language skills. Recent data, particularly from Europe and North America, demonstrate the economic importance of the “language services industry”. Reliable statistics on the size of the labour market are available principally from developed countries, but there is a lack of such data on even the largest developing countries. We know very little about the working conditions of translators; however, a recent European survey indicates that, in general, literary translators are poorly paid and frequently required to take on heavy work loads, with negative consequences for quality. More studies are clearly necessary. As a forum for national translators’ associations, the International Federation of Translators promotes professionalism in the translating field and proper working conditions for translators. However, the FIT’s governing bodies are dominated by Europe and North America, despite the rise of the new economic powers and the increase in demands for translation. This text presents a few preliminary results of research currently being conducted at the Université de Sherbrooke’s Research Institute on Educational Practices. The study seeks to understand how situations presented in teacher education can support the functioning and success of trainee teachers’ professional learning. The article’s aim is to identify the points of convergence between situations of professional activity, situations of professional learning, and training situations. The text will attempt to analyze the role that can be played by certain training (...) structures that seek to support a professionalization process that we define in terms of a general aim: the construction of professional knowledge. The originality of this research lies in that it draws on the work of Gaston Bachelard to develop a theoretical frame enabling a reading and interpretation of the results. Ce texte présente quelques résultats préliminaires d’une recherche menée présentement à l’Institut de recherche sur les pratiques éducatives de l’Université de Sherbrooke. Cette recherche vise à comprendre comment les situations présentes dans la formation à l’enseignement peuvent soutenir le fonctionnement et la réussite de l’apprentissage professionnel des enseignants en formation. Nous cherchons à identifier les points de rencontre entre les situations d’activité professionnelle, les situations d’apprentissage professionnel et les situations de formation. Nous tenterons d’analyser le rôle que peuvent jouer certains dispositifs visant à soutenir un processus de professionnalisation que nous définissons au regard d’une finalité : la construction de savoirs professionnels. This article is based on a pratice of formation making it possible to put un parallel the challenges of the professional equality taking into consideration those of mixed nature in order to apprehend the real equality as a new coopérative relational space between the women and the men. This practice tried out the conceptual methods of construction and clarified the “formative reciprocity” (Héber-Suffrin, 2011). A pedagogy of the creativity was installation around the setting in pictures of the professional equality. We (...) will consider that the professional equality puts in debate the idea to do a work of awakening of our perceptions and our resonances symbolic systems necessary for the implementation of the professional real equality. This research aims to analyze the professionalization process of Master students in an adult education program, based in the University of Rennes (Brittany). The material uses ten reflexive analysis papers, produced by the students for each end of their year session (Master 1 and Master 2). This reflexive production, which aims to formalize and clarify the articulation of theoretical and praxeological aspects of the Master program, shows the integrative experience acquired during the year. The analysis of these papers allows us (...) to characterize the process of professional development from a model articulating three dimensions : 1) the identity dynamics linked with the process of professionalization, 2) the progressive professional socialization required by this professionalization, 3) the development of a specific posture, as a reflexive practitioner. The methodology employs a content analysis through inter-rater method. The results of this research offer a discussion on theoretical and practical levels, both for a better comprehension of professional development and for the trainers or program managers, to support this process of professionalization. Les New Age Travellers, groupe social nomade en Grande-Bretagne, caractérisé à lafois par la contre-culture des années 1970 et les formes de précarisation actuelles, parviennent sous certains aspects à surmonter des situations de risques diversifiées. À partir de trois dimensions qui leur sont spécifiques : le rapport au travail, la solidarité communautaire et le nomadisme, ces individus tentent au quotidien, de façon non conventionnelle, fragile et bricolée, de reconstruire des liens sociaux, de forger de nouveaux supports de reconnaissance sociale en (...) faisant preuve d’inventivité. L’objectif de notre article est double : placer les notions de processus social d’individualisation ou encore de subjectivation au sein d’un mode de vie ou d’une situation qui en semblent très éloignés : la précarité. Dans cette mesure, les populations désaffiliées apparaissent également susceptibles d’action et d’initiative, à condition d’en définir les modalités et les limites qui y sont associées. En outre, l’idée consiste à proposer un nouvel éclairage de ce groupe social et à souligner son intérêt pour saisir, à une échelle microsociologique et sous des aspects particuliers, les transformations du lien social aujourd’hui.The New Age Travellers, a nomadic social group living in Great Britain, characterized by modern expressions of poverty and by a counter-culture inspired by the seventies, manage to overcome various situations of risk. In various domains which may be peculiar to this social group – work, communal solidarity and nomadism –, these individuals attempt, in a fragile, non-conventional and inventive way, to reconstruct social memberships and to forge new bases for social recognition. This paper has two complementary goals : using the notion of social process of individualization or of subjectivation , it first wishes to analyse the New Age Travellers’ way of life or various situations of precariousness which seem very far removed from these notions. In this way, desaffiliated individuals also appear capable of action and initiative, provided one has defined their forms and specified the limits of the process. The paper will then cast new light on this social group, and will demonstrate its importance for the understanding, at a small-scale level and from a particular perspective, of broader transformations in today’s social link. Over the course of a lifetime, the risk of professional disruption is considerable. The most frequent causes of disruption are linked to illness or accidents, which leads many employees or self-employed people to change their professional status by obtaining recognition as disabled workers from Maisons Departmentale des Personnes Handicapées (MDPHs) (Departmental Centres for Disabled People). This situation concerns a significant proportion of the population. This research study, which was carried out using a qualitative methodology based on ten interviews and eighty (...) questionnaires, sheds new light on the support provided during skills assessments. It re-examines the support provided to jobseekers who have been recognized as disabled workers by examining the in-between positions of employment support professionals, the in-between nature of the challenges they face, and the in-between nature of the timeframes required to get people forced to change career path back into the workplace.
