Abstract
It has become a ritual: every 6 months, I meet the 15 members of the Scientific Council of the Maison des sciences de l’homme en Bretagne (MSHB) for the labelling committee. These researchers in political science, philosophy, geography, archaeology, psychology and sociology are French, Spanish, Portuguese and Swiss. Around the huge meeting table, we also find the administrative manager of the MSHB, the six engineers (digital humanities, data processing and analysis, editing, project manager), and the communication officer. Like me, they are listening but will not take part in the vote. We can answer questions or provide clarifications if we are called upon to do so. On average, about 15 projects are examined and five are selected for funding of 8000 euros, with the guarantee of access to all MSHB’s engineering services. The principle of the call for projects is to produce a leverage effect either by incubating an emerging research or by making an adjustment to a large-scale project already funded at the national level. The pre-requisite being the implementation of an interdisciplinary approach.
