Abstract

La exposición del Mismo al Otro constituye el núcleo de la Revelación bíblica y coránica, pero está presente ya en la estructura misma de las lenguas semíticas. El estudio de éstas y, paralelamente, el análisis de la evolución asimétrica registrada por algunos lexemas comunes tanto a las lenguas semíticas como a las lenguas indoeuropeas permite, en efecto, confirmarlo así y extraer algunas implicaciones, no sólo desde un punto de vista lingüístico, sino también filosófico, respecto del constante desafío que representa para el lector occidental la comprensión de los textos bíblico y coránico.Exposure to Alterity is the axis of both Biblical and Koranic Revelation. Yet such an exposure is also present in the structure of Semitic languages. The study of Semitic languages and the analysis of the asymmetrical development that has characterized some lexems originally shared by Semitic and Indo-European languages proves this to be true. And some important implications, both from a linguistical and a philosophical viewpoint, may be thus inferred concerning the challenge that involves for a Western reader understanding the Bible and the Koran
