Abstract

In the history of Christianity faith and reason became tied together. Francis of Assisi as to his personal convictions, Thomas Aquinas as to his proofs of God’s existence and Luther as to his critique of the church hierarchy are forms of strictly human thinking within the Christian world. And this characterizes the Self-Secularization of Christianity.
