Abstract

Ogyū Sorai’s Collected Works is a collection of Sorai’s poetry and prose in Chinese, compiled and published after his death by his disciples Hattori Nankaku and Dazai Shundai. It counts seven fascicles of poetry, twelve fascicles of prose, and eleven fascicles of letters – thirty fascicles in all. It contains works that Sorai wrote between Hōei 1, when he was thirty-nine years of age, and Kyōhō 12, when he had turned sixty-two. He died in the following year.
