Abstract

En este ensayo se analiza el sustrato literario bíblico de Beloved, de Toni Morrison, que desde el diseño paratextual permite realizar nuevas interpretaciones históricas y contemporáneas sobre el lugar del pueblo afroamericano dentro de la cultura estadounidense. Mediante una lectura detallada y hermenéutica de la novela, el tratamiento literario de la esclavitud en Estados Unidos se resignifica, poniendo énfasis en las crisis éticas que conllevan reposicionamientos comunitarios.
