El Defensor Minor mantiene el objetivo fundamental del conjunto de la obra de Marsilio de Padua: la crítica a la concepción teocrática del poder pontificio. Entre los aspectos estudiados destacan la naturaleza del poder, las diferencias y relaciones entre la ley divina y la ley humana, y el carácter coactivo de ambas.Defensor Minor follows the basic objective of the work of Marsilio de Padua: the critique of the theocratic conception of papal power.
