The Perception of Caregivers on Elderly Privacy: Adana Case

Abstract

INTRODUCTION[|]In this study, it is aimed to determine the perception of caregivers on elderly privacy.[¤]METHODS[|]The study was conducted with 99 participants at two public nursing home by using the scale on Privacy Attitudes developed by İzgi et al. (2013). In data analysis, t-test and one way ANOVA were used.[¤]RESULTS[|]Scale consists of two factors as the necessity of privacy and the negligibility of privacy. The necessity of privacy differs according to caregiver's aging, education and position on the job, but it does not differ according to caregiver's gender and marital status. The negligibility of privacy differs according to caregiver's gender, education level and position on the job but it does not differ according to caregiver's age and marital status.[¤]DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION[|]The sensibility of caregivers on nursing homes is needed to increase on preserving and improving the elderly privacy.[¤]
