Abstract

L'élan vers l'unité qui anime la pensée plotinienne se traduit par un effort pour l'amener à son plus haut niveau conceptuel, puis à outrepasser parfois le discours intellectif pour emprunter les voies d'un au-delà de la pensée qui va se transformer en pensée de l'au-delà. En prétendant nous dévoiler, dans l'inconscience d'une mort artificielle, la vision de l'inconnaissable, en poursuivant l'anéantissement de l'altérité grâce à une négation sublimée qui ne peut, bien entendu, échapper à la logique de l'être, Plotin se trouve en proie aux contradictions de toute philosophie qui veut faire appel à la mystique. The surge towards unity which sustains the Plotinian thought is expressed by an effort to bring it to its highest conceptual level, then to go sometimes beyond the intellective thinking to follow the ways of a beyond of the thought which is going to be changed into a thought of the beyond. When pretending to unveil us, in the unconsciousness of an artificial death, the vision of the unknowable, when pursuing the annihilation of the alterity thanks to a sublimated negation which cannot, of course, escape from the logic of being, Plotin is a prey to the contradictions of any philosophy which wants to appeal to mystique.
