Life-Meaning Reconstruction of Bereaved Parents

Abstract

This study investigated the death of a child parents, the death occurred, the meaning of life experience and insight of the different subjective experiences, to take qualitative research methods in-depth interviews to collect data through the view of respondents about their parents When children face death, how hopeless life, to rediscover the meaning of life. The study interviewed a total of six death of a child parents , from the data analysis found that: children of parents mourning the death in the face of children's narrative. the mourning after the death of both parents in their children began to explore or touch the deaths. the children of parents mourning their children die because of life changes. before the death of their children, parents, life goals and more money to work for the purpose; face child death, these parents experienced grief after the funeral, life goals began to shift altruistic service. religious beliefs, re-interpretation of the child's death and funeral services are altruistic parents of children an important factor in rebuilding the meaning of life. The research explores about the bereaved parents has different experience of meaning of life and awakening of subject experience after a child died. It is adopted for deep-interview of the qualitative method to understand the bereaved parents how to face the deceased child and find the meaning of life through despair of living. There are six participators losing their child include two men and for females. There are five themes after data analysis: 1. The bereaved parents describe how to face and talk about child-decease happening. 2. The bereaved parents begin to explore or touch death problems after their child died. 3. The bereaved parents change their philosophy while their child dying. 4. The bereaved parents change their living object from making money to conducing service while facing their child died. 5. Religious , reinterpreting and conducing service are three important factors to help th bereaved parents to restructure their meaning of life
