Anglofonia globale, subalternità culturale e progetti di dissoluzione della lingua nel sistema formativo italiano

Abstract

Global anglophony, cultural subordination and projects of language dissolution in the Italian education system. This article points out the risks associated with the proliferation of courses taught in English language in the Italian universities and high schools. This policy, argues the author, is not adequate to solve the problem of the lack of knowledge of foreign languages by Italian students and, on the other hand, it threatens to de-qualify the teaching of non-linguistic disciplines. A further deterioration of higher education in Italy seems to be the predictable outcome.
