Tra Humanitas Animalitas e Deitas: intorno alla maschera di Pulcinella

Abstract

BETWEEN HUMANITAS ANIMALITAS AND DEITAS: ABOUT PULCINELLA’S MASK Pulcinella is an archetypal character found all over the world, but the persistence of the stock character in public imagination, far from being connected to any particular attribute, is due to his lack of any pronounced identity. Actually Pulcinella is a sort of empty space where the spectator can project his repressed impulse and enjoy a cathartic effect through the laughter that the stock character provokes. Pulcinella is an hybrid subject, that condenses in himself Humanitas, Animalitas and Deitas. He breaks the dichotomy of occidental metaphysics, and its separation between Logos and Bios.
