Abstract

Partindo da concepção winnicottiana de que a natureza do distúrbio psíquico está relacionada com o ponto de origem do mesmo, na linha do amadurecimento, este estudo visa mostrar que a teoria do amadurecimento pessoal serve de horizonte teórico para o diagnóstico clínico e orienta a tarefa clínica. Inicialmente, são apresentados os pressupostos básicos que norteiam a teoria e suas características centrais. Em seguida, apresenta-se, sucintamente, a classificação mais simples e mais usualmente formulada por Winnicott: a que inclui as psicoses, as depressões e as neuroses. Por último, à guisa de ilustração, mostra-se que um mesmo distúrbio do ponto de vista da sintomatologia, no caso, a paranóia, pode ter diferentes naturezas, segundo o momento do amadurecimento em que a falha ambiental fez surgir a dificuldade na vida do indivíduo.Based on Winnicott’s conception according to which the nature of the psychic disorder is connected with its origin - within the maturation process - this study aims to show that the theory of the personal maturation can be used as a theoretical horizon for clinical diagnosis purposes and as a guide for clinical work. At first, fundamental presuppositions upon which the theory is based as well as its main characteristics are provided here. Secondly, we present briefly the simplest classification normally used by Winnicott which includes psychoses, depressions and neuroses. At last, by way of example, we show that one same disorder in terms of symptoms, in this case paranoia, can have different natures, according to the moment of the maturation process when the environmental failure made the difficulty emerge in the individual’s life
