Abstract

Indeed, the purpose of Marcuse's phenomenology and critique of the dominating features of these societies is to demonstrate this view. Principles of negative thinking, however, require that the norms of a necessary transformation of these societies be defined, and to prescribe what must be done. This paper presents the approach to freedom as suggested by critical theory
