Abstract

Basically, the ancient Olympic Games synchronized with the birth of the Greek city-state system, development, prosperity and decline, and the Greek city-state system in which citizens have equal rights to the competitive nature of sports provides a fair political competition the environment. The difference is that, from the horizontal comparison, in Egypt, Babylon, China, India and other "four ancient civilizations," in neither appeared in the Greek-style democracy, have never had a "citizen", "equality" class of political ideas, its absolute monarchy to give the "hierarchy" or "caste system" is not conducive to fair competition on the objective of competitive sports and, therefore, can not be bred out of the Olympic movement. From the vertical perspective of the development, before the establishment of the Greek city-state system, as Crete, Mycenaean dynasty similar to the implementation of the Eastern authoritarian rule and hierarchy, which has not been bred out of the Olympic Movement; after the demise of the Greek city-state system , as the Roman Empire abandoned the Greek system of democracy, denial of the "citizen", "equality" of the class of political ideas, but also makes the continuation of the previous years of the Olympic movement halted, disappeared; to modern times, with the Renaissance, the Enlightenment , and the bourgeois democratic system established in the West, the concept of equality once again popular, finally making the Olympic movement re-Hwan life. That being said, the Olympic Movement is not only a sports event, and is the result of a political movement, with its "freedom" "equality" values worthy of our consideration. The ancient Olympic Games developed, prospered and declined by accompanying with the development of the city-state system in Greek since the city-state system provided a fair competition political circumstance, in which all people were equal, for the Olympic games. On one hand , it is impossible for other ancient civilized countries, such as Egypt, Babylon, China and India to gestate the Olympic Games since the absolute monarchy and the hereditary system did harm to the fair competition. On the other hand, neither the Crete and Mycenaean dynasties before the Greek nor the Rome Empire after the Greek hold the Olympic Games since the city-state system had been abolished. After the Capitalism system had been set up in the West in modem period, the equality value had been accepted, the modem Olympic Games restarted. Therefore, the Olympic Games are not only a sports game but also a political movement with the idea of liberty and equality
